Last week, the new 94 GHz FMCW Doppler Cloud Radar is delivered and installed at The Green Village on TU Delft Campus. This compact, mobile cloud radar is set to deliver high-resolution images of the composition of clouds. The radar is part of Ruisdael’s mobile cloud profiler platform along with other atmospheric measurement instruments including a microwave radiometer, a micro rain radar and several disdrometers. The platform will be deployed for use in national and international measurement and calibration campaigns in which the Ruisdael Observatory participates. The measuring equipment will also be accessible for researchers and students working on atmospheric research on TU Delft Campus and will provide a detailed picture of the local weather conditions. More information can be found here.
