This summer a lysimeter is installed at the measurement site in Cabauw. With this recently developed lysimeter it is possible to have a completely independent way of observing evaporation at the site. In this item PI Fred Bosveld from KNMI gives more background information.
Currently, PI’s from KNMI and Wageningen University are working on a combined micro-wave and optical scintillometer path between the Gerbrandy tower in IJsselstein and the measurement site in Cabauw. From this scintillometer observations path averaged evaporation fluxes will be derived. This will complement the existing evaporation observations at Cabauw across spatial scales.
