Abstract
In EUSKALMET (Basque Meteorology Agency), numerical weather prediction (NWP) models are executed daily for many different purposes. In order to improve results for first hours forecast we have implemented a system to include wind information from the Punta Galea Wind profiler. The assimilation scheme considers wind vertical profiles for different resolutions.
In this paper we present such assimilation system and some preliminary results. The system has been executed for different scenarios to check its behaviour. Some results are presented and compared with information from other instrumentation available in the Basque Country Area
